Samsung has launched a new Android smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Z. Samsung Galaxy Z sports a 4.2 inch touchscreen Super Clear LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

Samsung Galaxy Z is powered by a dual core 1GHz processor and it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Samsung Galaxy Z features 5 megapixel camera on the rear, a front camera for video calling, WiFi, GPS, USB, 8GB of built in storage and expandable microSD card slot.

LG Optimus 3D

The Optimus 3D smartphone builds on the Optimus 2x and Optimus Black that LG announced last month at CES. You'll find a similar design candy bar design in basic black. The 4.3-inch display takes up the most real estate, but four touch navigation elements sit just below. 

LG was quick to point out the Optimus 3D's "tri-dual' configuration, which includes a 1GHz dual-core processor, dual-channel and dual-memory architecture. And just as important, the company said the handset can record, view and share 3D content. We're still not sure what to think of this concept, but we'll get a better demonstration of the technology later today. 

To record 3D, the Optimus two 5.0-megapixel cameras on its back side; you won't need glasses to watch recorded video, and a 3D "Hot Key" will deliver five 3D-dedicated user interfaces. Video resolution is up to 1080p for 2D clips and up to 720p for 3D. 

Other features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a personal organizer, USB syncing and mass storage, GPS, a music player, 8GB of internal memory, a 1,500 mAh battery, and support DLNA/HDMI connections. The LG Optimus 3D will start a global roll out in Europe in the second quarter of this year.

The Optimus Pad marks LG's entry into the tablet space. It also features 3D recording and video capability (and the two 5-megapixel cameras), but LG appeared to more concerned with promoting the convenience of the tablet's 8.9-inch display. Calling it the "optimal size" for a tablet, a company exec drove the point home by ripping on competing devices (without mentioning them by name) that are smaller (like the Galaxy Tab) and larger (the iPad, the Motorola Xoom, and the new Galaxy Tab 10.1). 

While the smaller tablets are just "blown up smartphones," the exec said, the larger tablets are too bulky to be portable. He even showed photos of frustrated users either madly pecking at a tiny screen or being overwhelmed by a large device. Yes, they oversimplified things a but, but that's marketing for you.

The display has a 1280x768 WXGA resolution in widescreen while a 1GHz dual core Nvidia's Tegra 2 processor the Optimus Pad from the inside. You also get 1080p HD video decoding and HDMI support will let you share your 3D video with TVs. Unlike the Optimus 3D, though, you do need glasses to watch 3D video on the tablet. And as part of the Optimus Pad announcement, LG has a established a partnership with YouTube, which will let Optimus Pad owners quickly upload 3D videos for sharing.

Nokia X7

It seems Symbian Anna will be a force in every new smartphone released by Nokia. Besides Nokia E6, Nokia X7 also use Symbian Anna as the operating system. Nokia X7 provides a touch screen feature and strengthened with the Gorilla Glass and certainly more responsive and agile.

By using Symbian Anna, Nokia hopes that Nokia X7 can be successful in the market and can compete with Android and Apple. Symbian3 is a renewal of Symbian Anna that previously installed on the Nokia N8, E7, C7 and C6-01. Nokia X7 display looks more interactive with the presence of a connection to Facebook and Twitter in real time. Updates are also done on the icons, there is a qwerty keyboard when the phone is in an upright position. In addition, the available enterprise features such as hardware acceleration, encryption, and improved security features.

Dimensions of this phone is not too wide (6.28 cm) so that makes it quite comfortable to use on one hand. Capacitive screen 16 million colors and a resolution of 640 × 320 makes the images that appear on the screen is sharper. Take a look at the four corners of a striped cell phone, there is the speaker that makes sound issued by Nokia X7 to be heard more loudly. 8-megapixel camera supports the user to produce HD quality images.

As a mobile entertainment, gaming presence would be an absolute requirement. Nokia X7 already includes two HD games in it, Asphalt 5 and Galaxy on Fire. The internal memory is provided on the Nokia X7 only 320MB, and you can add up to 32Gb.

Price & Availability

The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray handset will be available globally in selected markets from Q3 in four distinct colors – black, gold, white and pink. We are expecting this handset will hit the markets in September. There is no official word on its pricing yet.

Xperia^TM active is also a different kind of smartphone compared to the earlier phones in the Xperia family. While it packs a full feature set of Android Gingerbread, a 3 inch 320×480 Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA® engine and a 5MP camera with HD-video recording etc it also is dustproof and water resistant. The resistance to dust and water meets the standard of IP67 which is described like this:

What this really means is that Xperia^TM active is the smartphone that you don’t have to be as careful with as previous ones. You can use it for an active live, out running in the rain etc without being worried that your phone will be damaged from it. If you’re not the active type there are of course also lots of other situations where a more resistant phone comes in handy, me being a lucky father of two little girls can definitely see a case for it besides exercising in the rain 

The scratch resistant screen also uniquely incorporates wet finger tracking, to ensure the phone works perfectly when either the screen or your fingers are wet.

Besides that it also is a beautiful smartphone which really gives a feeling of sturdyness to it even though it has basically the same form factor as the previously announced Xperia^TM mini.
